What this role entails and how you'll contribute As a Studio Art Director in the Gift Presentation, Packaged Expressions & Celebrations creative studio , you will be responsible for providing pioneering leadership & Art Direction of programs and the category. You will develop compelling , visionary and innovative strategies internally and externally to retailers/ buyers. You demonstrate strong creative flair, great understanding of insights ,trends, color, print, pattern & typography along with external perspectives that affect the category. You are an innovative thinker and bring new ideas & solutions forward to support category growth. You are resourceful, and help the team design smartly to manage costs of products effectively. You are responsible of the end to end process of creative and effectively hold good technical knowledge of print process and design to manufacture knowledge. You will be repsonsible for a design team of 5+ , you will mentor, coach , inspire, and art direct and create a winning team culture. You are a natural collaborator and work well with your peers & business partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS The following is required to be considered for this role:

• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of professional work experience
• Minimum 5 years of product development experience
• Minimum 3 years of art director experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Your resume/application will stand out if you have:

• Bachelor's Degree in a visual creative field (Graphic Design, Illustration, etc.)
• 10+ years of product development experience
• Previous or current Hallmark product development experience
• MBA or Master's degree in relevant field
• Multiple leadership experiences in production, engineering, inventory and/or demand planning across product categories, supply chain, retail, customer development, product management or finance
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, high collaboration skills, high emotional intelligence, decisiveness, sense of urgency, creativity and holistic thinking.
• Business acumen, financial acumen, leadership/influence, planning and analytical, change management and negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex situations that involve cost containment, interdivisional conflict and leadership challenges, and functions within a multi-disciplinary role.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS This is a hybrid role, working on site most Wednesdays at our headquarters location in Kansas City, MO. This role also attends customer meetings as needed.
