The Role
This Principal Oracle Database Architect role is focused on database design, performance tuning, and production support in large-scale AWS environments. The engineer will partner closely with application development, architecture, and product teams to optimize Oracle databases throughout the software lifecycle, from design through deployment. The position requires deep expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, RAC, GoldenGate, performance tuning, schema design, data modeling, and AWS database services while driving automation, cloud modernization, and database best practices across multiple projects.
Candidates should have 10+ years of Oracle database experience supporting complex enterprise environments, with a strong background in Oracle performance tuning, SQL optimization, RAC, GoldenGate, and production support. Additional experience with AWS (RDS, EC2, EKS), traditional databases such as DB2, SQL Server, and Sybase, NoSQL technologies like Cassandra and MongoDB, cloud infrastructure, database automation, troubleshooting, and SDLC is highly valued. The role also includes participating in design reviews, Level 3 production support, collaborating with systems analysts and development teams, and leading initiatives that improve database efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence.
