Pay Range: $29.39 - $36.09 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Master's Degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field
• Certified New Jersey Mental Health Screener or eligible within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

• 2 years’ experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention/emergency services

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time
• Evening Shift
• Weekend, evening, and holiday coverage, depending on the program needs

Essential Functions:

• Attend staff meetings
• Fully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely manner
• Facilitates voluntary/involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and procedures
• Provides and completes all documentation, records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and procedures
• Provides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the community
• Brings all unusual situations, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his/her designate
• Performs all other duties as assigned
