$20/hour | 6+ hour shifts between 6:00am–4:00pm | Spring & Summer

About Frø

Frø Bakehouse is a commercial bakery and event space in Red Hook, Brooklyn that transforms into a weekend café. We focus on doing a few things exceptionally well, specializing in Danish baked goods and traditional Danish rye bread.

During the week we bake and prepare for market. On weekends, you’ll find Frø at farmers markets across Brooklyn, New York City, and the Hamptons sharing our bread, pastries, and story with local customers.

We are currently seeking Farmer’s Market Team Members to support our market operations throughout the spring and summer season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, working in an energetic outdoor environment, and representing a growing food brand focused on quality, sustainability, and great vibes.

You will help set up and operate our market booths, serve customers, prepare samples, manage transactions, and share the Frø story with the wider community. The position blends customer service, brand storytelling, food sampling, and market operations.

People who thrive in this role could have the opportunity to join the Frø team on a more permanent basis.

Shifts may take place Thursday through Sunday and may include:

• Full day: 7:00am – 4:00pm
• Setup shift: 6:00am – 12:00pm
• Service shift: 10:00am – 4:00pm

A spring and summer seasonal commitment with flexibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up the Frø farmers market booth, including tables, signage, product displays, and sampling stations
• Slice bread and prepare samples for customers throughout the day
• Operate the booth and POS system alongside a teammate, serving as a primary point of contact for customers discovering Frø
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service and introduce customers to Danish rye bread, our baked goods, and our focus on local grains
• Sell and serve pastries and breads, including sourdough buns, cardamom buns, and rye loaves
• Maintain a clean, organized booth and product display throughout the market day
• Handle transactions and assist with cash management
• Track inventory and sales throughout the day to support business insights
• Help keep the market space tidy and assist with trash removal
• Support booth breakdown at the end of the market day, including packing products and equipment and loading the vehicle
• Occasionally coordinate with farmers market staff during setup and breakdown

What We’re Looking For

• Outgoing, high-energy, and enjoy engaging with customers
• Excited to talk about food, Danish rye bread, and local grain production
• Friendly, approachable, and comfortable speaking with many people throughout the day
• Reliable and punctual (farmers markets require early mornings)
• Organized and able to work efficiently during busy market periods
• Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to ~40 lbs during setup and breakdown
• Thrive in a small-team environment and are willing to help wherever needed
• Interest in food, hospitality, or consumer brands
• Excited to act as a brand ambassador and represent Frø in the community
• Bonus: Your own vehicle and/or the ability to drive a vehicle
