**Job Title: Middle School Computer Science Teacher

Location: Centerburg Middle School

Job Type: Full-Time Start

Date: 26-27 School Year**

Job Summary: Centerburg Middle School is seeking a passionate and innovative Middle School Computer Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore and engage with technology, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects and creative instruction. This position requires a valid Ohio teaching license with a Computer/Technology Endorsement.

*Key Responsibilities: *

• Develop and implement engaging, standards-based computer science curriculum for grades 6--8
• Teach topics such as coding (Scratch, VEX, etc.), digital literacy, web development, robotics, and cybersecurity fundamentals
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Utilize technology to enhance learning experiences and promote digital citizenship
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum planning
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities

*Qualifications: *

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
• Valid Ohio teaching license with Computer/Technology Endorsement
• Strong knowledge of computer science principles and educational best practices
• Experience teaching middle school students preferred
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for technology and inspiring young learners

**Preferred Skills:

Experience with block-based and text-based programming languages

Knowledge of tools like Google Workspace, Scratch, VEX, HTML/CSS, or micro:bit

Familiarity with project-based learning and STEM integration **
