The Pontifical College Josephinum is seeking to hire an Access & Discovery Services Librarian beginning in July 2026. For the successful candidate, a completed Masters of Library Science (MLS or MLIS) is required. Kleinschmidt and Msgr. Gerald F. Applications should be submitted by Monday, April 20, 2026.
The Pontifical College Josephinum, founded in 1888 and located on a beautiful campus north of downtown Columbus, Ohio, has a College of Liberal Arts and a School of Theology. The College of Liberal Arts offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in philosophy and humanities as well as a two-year pre-theology program offering a Certificate of Completion in Philosophical and Theological Studies or a Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.) degree. The School of Theology offers a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and a pre-doctoral Master of Arts in Theology (M.A.), as well as a Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree (STB) through affiliation with the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, Italy.
Both the College and the School of Theology are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and by the Association of Theological Schools, respectively. For many decades, the Josephinum, which is overseen by the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, who serves as Chancellor, and ultimately by the Dicastery for the Clergy in Rome, has offered programs recognized for their academic excellence and conformity to the standards of priestly formation promulgated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and approved by the Holy See.
